Early Access is live
Uptime is out in Early Access on Steam, Windows, macOS and Linux. Build a cloud provider from a garage to a hyperscaler, with real cables, real power budgets, and customers who notice when you get it wrong. Here is what is in, and how we are building the rest with you.
Uptime is in Early Access, right now, on Steam. Windows, macOS and Linux. Thank you for being here at the start. Every server you rack and every cable you run from today shapes what the full game becomes.
What Early Access is
The whole loop, garage to growth, running on the deterministic engine we have been building in the open. You walk the floor in first person: buy the hardware, carry it to the rack, seat it, pull cable off the spool and run it by hand, power on, and sign your first customers. Then you keep them online while the simulation pushes back with real constraints, not flavour text. Spanning tree converges. LAG, fault domains, CPU oversubscription, power and cooling are budgets you actually spend. Loop the network the wrong way and it storms.
New to infrastructure? One key turns the jargon off: the same systems in plain language. An engineer can turn it back on and read every acronym straight.
If you want to try before you buy, the free demo is still available on the same Steam page: the first hour, no strings.
Building it with you
Early Access means we ship fixes fast and take direction from what you hit in your own save. This first window already brought a wave of them:
- Money and pacing feel alive. The sim clock runs faster and the economy is retuned, so growing the business shows up on the cash line instead of crawling.
- Smarter placement. New workloads balance across your fleet instead of piling onto one box, so adding hardware actually helps.
- Honest contention. CPU pressure is surfaced where you look for it, alerts fire only when customers are genuinely affected, and they clear themselves when the pressure lifts.
- Clearer consoles. Host readouts show live load and account for the platform’s own overhead, so the numbers agree with what you are seeing on the floor.
More is already in flight. The place it all gets argued out, reported, and turned into the next build is the Discord. Bring your war stories.
Get Uptime on Steam. See you on the floor.
